Dear
Members, Alumni, and Guests,
Welcome
to the website of the University of Arizona Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta
Law Fraternity, International. Phi Alpha
Delta (PAD) is the largest and only co-ed law fraternity in the world. Our name signifies the Greek phrase philos adelphos dikaios, meaning
“Justice is a dear brother” or “Love of humanity and justice for all.” This sentiment is embodied in the
fraternalism that the members of our chapter share. Our fraternity motto is “Service to the
student, to the school, to the profession, and to the community.” The
Our
chapter has grown significantly since being chartered in 1986. Each semester’s calendar now includes a
variety of philanthropy, youth mentor, professional, fundraiser, intramural,
and social events, as well as
several special biannual events. During PAD
Olympics our members compete on teams in events like cabbage football, tug-o-war,
and Trivial Pursuit. Members also play new
members in our PADsketball tournament. The membership comes together to compete amongst each other each
semester in a Mock Trial as well.

Beyond
involving yourself on campus and in the community, membership in the U of A’s
PAD Pre-Law Chapter allows you many opportunities to learn more about law
school and the legal profession. We host
several speaker meetings each semester where judges, attorneys, and other
professionals speak to our chapter about their experience in the legal field. Practice LSAT exams, law student panels, and
the opportunity to sit-in on classes at the U of A College of Law are other
unique opportunities afforded to members of our chapter.
The
spirit of Phi Alpha Delta extends beyond the events we organize or the
activities we participate in. The
camaraderie that all PAD brothers and sisters enjoy is indescribable. I encourage you to learn more about Phi Alpha
Delta by exploring our website. The
links to the left will guide you to important information on membership,
programming, and the mission of Phi Alpha Delta. If you are interested in joining PAD, talk to
a member, stop by our recruitment booth or an informational meeting at the
beginning of each semester, or feel free to e-mail one of our officers. We are always happy to welcome new members.
Fraternally,
Sarah
